Techcrunch.com reports that Software company Redhat is miffed about DataPortability's logo which coincidentally includes an infinity symbol (same angle). www.techcrunch.com (2/21/08) "LOGO WAR: RED HAT TAKES ON PORTABILITY"
By the way, the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("PTO") classifies all designs into a six digit code. The design code for the infinity symbol is "24.17.12". You can enter this code into the PTO's website using the TESS search system and find that the infinity symbol is commonly used in the tech industry as part of a trademark. It seems that in this case, the angle, size, etc... was too close for Red Hat's comfort.
